Made a return trip to Arundel last weekend; it's quite a bit quieter on a Saturday so I mostly lingered around the ponds near the main building trying to reduce the number of times where I clonk the camera and blur the shot

Well the last list of stuff to do is way out of date, guess I'd better start over....
Great Big List 'o Stuff

Always thought that people submitting prose, poetry and the like to DevArt have a harder time of it trying to get people to look at their stuff, there's no real equivalent to the thumbnail for literature...
In an attempt to redress this terrible injustice
For me the highlights are a couple of short stories (Breakdown and Entreaties...) and a short political piece on Populism and Modernity
Journal Footers - the socially responsible kind of signatures
Just because your voice reaches halfway around the world doesn't mean you are wiser than when it reached only to the end of the bar

I've begun worshiping the sun for a number of reasons. First of all, unlike some other gods I could mention, I can see the sun. It's there for me every day. And the things it brings me are quite apparent all the time: heat, light, food, a lovely day. There's no mystery, no one asks for money, I don't have to dress up, and there's no boring pageantry. And interestingly enough, I have found that the prayers I offer to the sun and the prayers I formerly offered to "God" are all answered at about the same 50-percent rate.
- George Carlin
We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine and remember that we are not descended from fearful men.
- Edward R. Murrow
...contrary to this lethargic vision of trickle-down democracy, globalization in its current form doesn't bring liberty.
Neither does the free market or the ready availability of Big Macs.
Real democracy - true decision-making power in the people's hands - is always demanded, never granted.
- Naomi Klein (Fences and Windows)
Society is, always has been and always will be, a structure for the exploitation and oppression of the majority through systems of political force dictated by an élite, enforced by thugs, uniformed or not, and upheld by a willful ignorance and stupidity on the part of the very majority whom the system oppresses.
- Takeshi Kovacs (Altered Carbon)
Faith is what people will live and die for, doctrine is what they'll kill for
- Not-too-sure(tm)
The future is all around us, waiting in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation.
No one knows the shape of that future, or where it will take us.
We know only that it is always born in pain.
- Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5)

Some people think this is it;
fish think the same about the sea.

If it had no beginning, it has no end.

And somedays, it's a good day to have breakfast.
